D-town, what!

it was a busy little weekend of travel! after returning from green bay, i headed to an actual city when i visited the birthplace of the legendary Amber Lynn Skorich in duluth, minn.

oh, how i love duluth. i love when bill pullman's character in sleepless in seattle mistakenly states that duluth is a town in north dakota. i love when the traffic stops and the little bridge raises and the biggest ships ever built drift into the harbor. 100's of people line the boardwalk to see this phenomenon, taking photos of what seems like magic as 10 tons of steel glide effortlessly across an endless fresh water lake. i love the bluffs, the historic mansions, the san fransisco-esque hills, grandma's saloon (all three of them), fitgers brewery, canal park. i just love it.

my mom, sister and i drove up...ate, drank, were merry. it was a grand time. here are some photos of our trip.

FITGERS BREWERY

Before...

After...

100's of people taking photos of a boat. clearly, i was one of them, or i wouldn't have this photo to show you.

you gotta admit, that's pretty tight.

only minnesota born children would be frolicking and splashing in 50 degree water as if it were a heated pool in florida.

hol to the ler.

Christmas photo op. what a darling little family.

you are quite darling!!

and sweet mercy. isn't mariah a TAD young to be drinking? for cryin' out loud. (in my MN accent of course)
LOVE the light house pics.
and LOVE how the children are swimming and the very next pic is you in your hoodie freezine to death. although, that's not saying much. you'd be in a hoodie at the lake even if it was 90 out. (again in my mn accent)

Jamie and I have not been to Duluth yet, but is definitely at the top of the list of "things to do in MN".
