proud to be who i am
proud to be broken where i stand
proud to not pretend that things are always okay
or be PC cuz i fear it will be taken the wrong way

proud that i don't have to follow others' path
proud to keep walkin through my life's aftermath
proud that i can do it with or without a helping hand
confident i can jump and on my two feet i will land

proud to dance like crazy when i'm at home all alone
proud to find a tune no matter where i might be goin
proud to sing or rap regardless if the notes are right
with a promise to find great solace in the music of my life

proud to have a mother who's strong as hell
proud to say in her hands my heart will always dwell
proud to see a sister be raised with that same dignity
and know that when all else fails we are a pillar of three

proud that my work is the very air i breathe
proud to see my purpose in life unfold within a league
proud to be a part of something bigger than me
with the hope that i've changed lives when its time for me to leave
