a taste of sweet tea, the sound of amos lee

I am missing some very dear friends tonight, but not in a sad way...in a way that just reminds me of how blessed I am to know them.

i think it's so neat how a sound, smell or taste can remind you of a time shared with someone special. this weekend i enjoyed a fluff-n-nutter...first introduced to me by Abs. tonight i'm so thankful i was able to track down some sweet tea in this state as i'm comforted by times with both abs and lisa, and reminded of my wonderful trip to north carolina just a few weeks ago. a subtle glance at my tattoo makes me reminiscent of an experience shared with a soul i have never even really lived in the same state as, but who has become one of my dearest sisters and friends.

and as i listen to different mixes tonight on my ipod (proving i - not ajj - am the best mix maker...well, ever), i hear laughter and stories of memories past.

sometimes change is a really scary thing. people leaving, people getting married, people moving on with their life in one way or another. it's scary, because you're just never sure what that change will bring. will you lose touch? will you forget the times you've shared? will you lose so many commonalities that there is no way to relate anymore? and sometimes that does happen. recently, though, God has given me friendships with bonds so strong they feel like they will never be broken.

so tonight i'm missing you, friends. you know who you are. and i'm thankful for the sounds, the smells, the tastes that remind me of the times we've shared together. They warm my heart :)

You said, "warm my heart". i love it. and i miss you too. i feel that we are "pick-up-right-where-we-left-off" kind of friends, no matter what change brings to our lives. and our front porch and firepit is always open to you! so, where'd you end up finding that sweet tea? :)

i did that JUST (abs) for you and abby :). ohhh, that porch and firepit offer sounds wonderful...but only if i get to stay in the room with that hott wallpaper, lol :) it's Arizona an I've only found the "sweet" version of it at an SA gas station so far...it'll do until my next trip to FV..haha.

I second that warm my heart comment!!! I will never hear "keep it lose, keep it tight" without thinking fondly of the days of us...and just so ya know. you've got me for life, so get used to it.
